Children died in a fire in Lviv region
Правоохоронці проводять розслідування декількох смертельних пожеж в Україні, серед яких одна, що забрала життя трьох малюків.

Deadly Fires Claim Lives Across Ukraine

According to Главком: Three young children, born in 2019, 2021, and 2023, died in a house fire in the village of Volia-Vysotska, Lviv region. Police alerted emergency services to the tragedy on February 7 at 23:00. Preliminary reports indicate the fire started from children playing with matches, which ignited a bed in the room. The victims suffered burns and smoke inhalation. State Emergency Service units were not dispatched to this incident.

Separately, police in the Kyiv region are investigating another fatal fire in the Bucha district, where a 79-year-old woman died. Firefighters discovered her body while extinguishing the blaze. In Vyshhorod, also in Kyiv region, a fire broke out in a nine-story residential building, prompting rescuers to evacuate 12 adults and one child; no injuries were reported in that case.

Authorities Urge Public to Follow Safety Guidelines

In the Vinnytsia region, two people died in late January due to faulty stoves. In light of these recent tragedies, safety experts are urging the public to adhere to critical precautions:

  • Never leave young children unattended at home;
  • Keep matches and lighters out of children's reach;
  • Regularly check the condition of electrical wiring and household appliances;
  • Educate children about the dangers of fire;
  • Immediately call the emergency number 101 in case of danger.

This series of fatal fires underscores the urgent need for heightened safety awareness in homes, particularly in households with young children. Such incidents are a tragic reminder of the risks posed by everyday hazards. Experts urge parents to maintain vigilant control of their home environment and teach children basic safety rules to prevent future tragedies. Investigations into the circumstances of these Ukrainian fires remain a priority, as citizen safety continues to be a key focus for law enforcement and rescue services.
