This statement came from Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan following his meeting with Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov. Ankara has proposed facilitating direct dialogue between the two warring parties on Turkish soil, a role it previously played in the early stages of the full-scale invasion.

Fidan warned that prolonging the war poses serious security and economic threats to the entire Black Sea region. He stressed the urgency of ending the conflict, stating:

“This destabilization, this escalation could lead to a further expansion of the war, so everything possible must be done to bring it to an end.”

Amid these developments, Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov confirmed that there are currently no official communication channels between Moscow and Kyiv.
