According to ХВИЛЯ: The tourist tax in Ukraine for the 11 months of 2025 amounted to 338.4 million UAH, which is 35.4% more than in the same period last year. The increase in tax was 88.4 million UAH, indicating a rise in tourism activity in the country.
Top regions by tourist tax
Among the regions that received the most funds from the tourist tax, Kyiv leads with 68.8 million UAH. The Lviv region is in second place with 61.6 million UAH. The Ivano-Frankivsk region took third place, receiving 45.6 million UAH, while the Zakarpattia region completed the top four with 30.4 million UAH.
The tourist tax rate for citizens of Ukraine is up to 0.5% of the minimum wage, while for foreigners, it can reach up to 5% of the minimum wage. The minimum wage as of January 1, 2025, was 8000 UAH, meaning that the maximum tax rate for domestic tourists is 40 UAH per day, while for foreigners it is 400 UAH per day.
