Turkcell продала Lifecell за 538 мільйонів доларів: як зміна власника вплине на українських споживачів.

One of the major Turkish telecommunications operators, Turkcell, has completed the deal to sell all its assets in Ukraine. The shares of the companies Lifecell, Global Bilgi, and Ukrtower were acquired by the DVL Telecom consortium for $538.7 million. This information appeared on the KAP platform and was published by 'Glavkom'.

The deal also includes the transfer of all Turkcell's debts. Thus, the Turkish operator completely closes its operations in Ukraine, where it has been present since 2015 after acquiring Lifecell.

The merger of Lifecell and Datagroup-Volia

French billionaire Xavier Niel, along with a consortium, has signed an agreement to purchase and merge the Ukrainian mobile operator Lifecell with Datagroup-Volia (DVL Telecom). Lifecell, which was the third largest mobile operator in Ukraine, will now merge with a company that provides fixed-line services and pay television.

After the sale of Turkcell's Ukrainian assets and the merger of Lifecell with Datagroup-Volia, the telecommunications market in Ukraine may experience significant changes due to the changes in ownership and new development strategies of the companies.
