The 'Own Business' program in 2026: what has changed
As of January 1, 2026, the maximum amounts of microgrants have been increased. They now amount to:
- up to UAH 100,000 upon registering as an individual entrepreneur;
- up to UAH 200,000 for creating one job;
- up to UAH 350,000 for creating at least two jobs;
- up to UAH 200,000 for young people aged 18–25 without the obligation to create jobs.
Improved conditions are also maintained for projects in the fields of preschool education and the creative industry, as well as for businesses in frontline regions. The grant implementation period is three years. Additionally, starting in 2026, new authorized banks will join the program, including PrivatBank and Sense Bank.
Results of the 'Own Business' program
The project of the State Employment Service started in 2022 and has been constantly expanding since then. In 2023, a veterans' direction appeared, and in 2025, support for certain sectors and regions was strengthened. Since the start of the program, financial assistance has been provided to about 34,000 entrepreneurs totaling UAH 8.8 billion. The vast majority of funds have been directed toward the development of existing businesses.
Julia Zhovtyak, Director of the State Employment Service, emphasizes that the program provides not only funding but also post-grant support, which helps entrepreneurs scale their business and create new jobs.
Let us remind you that the 'Own Business' program provides up to UAH 500,000 to entrepreneurs in frontline regions.
