Безкоштовні курси для швей та електриків розпочинають свою роботу в Чернігівській області

The InterUAction4Labour Initiative

According to Рубрика — Суспільство: In the Chernihiv region, the project InterUAction4Labour – U-Action for Skills & Employment is being launched by the NGO 'League of Business and Professional Women of Ukraine,' with support from the Belgian international cooperation agency Enabel. This initiative operates under the Active Labour Market Policy (ALMP) Facility program and aims to develop an innovative vocational training and employment model focused on the actual demands of employers and the labor market.

Training Programs and Collaborative Efforts

The project offers free training to 80 participants in two key professions: tailor/cutter and electrician specializing in construction and installation work. On September 25, 2023, a discussion and simulation session took place to explore ways to strengthen cooperation between education providers, businesses, and employment services. Attendees included representatives from the business sector, educational institutions, employment agencies, and civil society organizations.

"Measuring success by the number of courses or trainees alone is insufficient. It's essential to follow the entire process: identifying the specific needs of employers, assessing the capabilities of individuals, pinpointing skill gaps, providing hands-on practice, and verifying whether this leads to actual employment. During the session, we began identifying where this chain breaks and who should be accountable at each stage. This approach will help unite various partners around a shared goal and incorporate experts with strong knowledge, enabling us to work systematically with a clear strategy." Yulia Zaika

Established in 2000 and headquartered in Chernihiv, the League of Business and Professional Women of Ukraine currently comprises over 200 members and operates through seven specialized committees. The project encompasses key phases such as designing the model, testing it, and transitioning it into practical use. Training will be conducted using modern equipment and include hands-on practice within enterprises.

InterUAction4Labour not only strives to enhance participants’ skills but also aims to foster close collaboration across different sectors, potentially transforming the regional labor market. By engaging businesses in the training process and tailoring programs to specific employer needs, the initiative could significantly improve employment opportunities in the Chernihiv region-an especially critical effort amid ongoing economic challenges. This professional training model may serve as a blueprint for other Ukrainian regions, contributing to the advancement of education and workforce development nationwide.
