Temporary transport restrictions will be in effect on Honcha Street in Chernihiv from June 6 to June 12. The reason is emergency repairs on the main water pipeline, which required partial closure of one lane of traffic. The Chernihiv City Council reports this according to the utility company 'Chernihivvodokanal'.

Water pipeline repair restricts traffic on Honcha Street

Emergency work is being carried out on the water pipeline network with a diameter of 500 mm near house No. 34 on Honcha Street.

During the repair period, road workers have closed the right lane of traffic in the direction of Kotsyubynskyi Street. The restrictions will be in effect until June 12 inclusively.

The municipal utility explains that the work is necessary to ensure the reliable operation of the water supply system and eliminate the emergency situation in the network.

Special equipment and emergency teams are working on-site

For repair work, emergency teams, large specialized equipment, and road services are involved.

Due to this, there may be traffic complications in the area, especially during rush hours. Drivers are advised to be cautious and take into account the temporary changes in traffic organization.

Municipal workers urge road users to adhere to the requirements of temporary traffic signs, reduce speed in work zones in advance, and use alternative routes whenever possible.

When full traffic will be restored

The emergency repair work is expected to be completed and the usual traffic scheme restored by June 12.

Until this time, the partial restrictions will remain in effect. The city council asks residents to be understanding of the temporary inconveniences as the work is aimed at maintaining the stable operation of the city's infrastructure.

Honcha Street is one of the important transport arteries in the central part of Chernihiv, so drivers are advised to plan their travel routes in advance during the repair period.

Recall that in Chernihiv, an anesthesiologist from a private clinic was suspected under part 1 of Article 140 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine after the death of a 42-year-old patient who did not wake up from anesthesia after a cosmetic surgery that took place in mid-February 2026.
