Apply for Pregnancy, Childbirth, and Infant Care Benefits Now via the Diia App
Support for Pregnancy, Childbirth, and Infant Care
According to Пенсії (RSS): In Ukraine, individuals can now submit applications for financial aid related to pregnancy, childbirth, and childcare for children up to one year old through the Diia app. These benefits come in fixed amounts and are distributed via an automated system, with final verification carried out by the Pension Fund of Ukraine. Applications can also be processed through the Pension Fund’s service centers, Administrative Service Centers (CNAPs), or authorized representatives within local communities.
Benefit Amounts and How to Apply
- Pregnancy and childbirth support provides 7,000 UAH per month for pregnant women who are not insured under the compulsory state social insurance system.
- Childcare assistance for children under one year old is also set at 7,000 UAH monthly.
- Families raising a child with a disability receive increased childcare support of 10,500 UAH per month.
Applications are submitted via the Diia app, which forwards data to the Unified Social Sphere Information System. This platform automatically collects necessary information from government registries and generates decisions, which are then reviewed and approved by Pension Fund staff. For additional support or inquiries, applicants can contact the Pension Fund of Ukraine at 0 800 503 753.
Coming soon is the pilot beta launch of the "єЯсла" program, designed to assist working parents. This initiative is a collaboration between the Ministry of Social Policy, Family and Unity of Ukraine, the Ministry of Digital Transformation, and partner banks under the EGAP Program, implemented by the East Europe Foundation with Swiss support.
Introducing new social support mechanisms, such as benefits linked to pregnancy, childbirth, and childcare, represents a significant advancement in promoting social justice and family support across Ukraine.
The automation of benefit applications through the Diia app streamlines access, potentially improving living standards for families, especially those caring for children with disabilities. The upcoming "єЯсла" pilot reflects the government's commitment to modernizing social programs to better meet the needs of today’s parents.
