A trolleybus route in Kharkiv is resuming service, which has not been operational since 2022
Starting May 26, trolleybus No. 54 will resume operations in Kharkiv, which has not been running since the beginning of Russia's full-scale invasion in 2022. The restoration of the route is expected to improve transportation links for residents in the eastern districts of the city. This was reported by the Kharkiv City Council.
What will the trolleybus route No. 54 be in Kharkiv
The trolleybus will run from the turnaround circle 'April Twelfth Street' to the railway station 'Rohan'.
The route has been inactive since February 2022, after the start of active hostilities and the shelling of Kharkiv.
The city council has not yet specified the intervals of movement and the number of vehicles on the route.
What other transport is being restored in Kharkiv
Recently, bus route No. 21 has also resumed service in Kharkiv.
However, due to the security situation, the bus is temporarily operating on a modified route.
Specifically, the transport currently does not stop at:

'P'yatikhatska Street';

'Sunny Microdistrict';
-
'Zatyshnyanske Cemetery.'
The city is gradually restoring public transport operations despite the challenging security situation and regular attacks from the Russian Federation.
It should be noted that transport subsidies cost Kharkiv at least 5-6 billion hryvnias annually, leading to significant debts.
