In Kharkiv, tram traffic has been temporarily restricted on Byron Avenue and Morozova Street for three days. The changes will be in effect on August 17, 18, and 19 from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM. This was reported by the Kharkiv City Council.

The reason for the restrictions is the repair of the tram track. During the repair works, electric transport will not operate on the section from the turnaround circle «Street Odesa» to Mukachova Street.

How trams No. 5 and No. 8 will operate in Kharkiv on August 17-19

On the specified days, both tram routes will finish their service earlier:

  • Tram No. 5 will go to the turnaround circle «Street Mukachova»;

  • Tram No. 8 will also operate to the turnaround circle «Street Mukachova».

The regular final stop for these routes is the turnaround circle «Street Odesa». The shortened scheme will operate daily from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM until August 19 inclusive.

Passengers traveling towards Odesa are advised to take the repairs into account when planning their trips and to allow extra time for transfers.

Where bus No. 8 will operate in Kharkiv until August 19

To ensure transportation on the section closed to trams, the city authorities have organized a temporary bus route No. 8.

The bus will follow this route:

turnaround circle «Street Odesa» – Byron Avenue – Morozova Street – Mukachova Street.

Thus, passengers will be able to travel by bus from Odesa to the temporary final stops of trams No. 5 and No. 8 and transfer to the electric transport. After the repairs are completed, the trams are expected to return to their regular operating scheme.

Please note that in Kharkiv, there is a possibility that free public transport may continue even after the war ends.
