Kyiv to Host Agricultural Markets Amid Rising Prices for Cucumbers and Potatoes

Prices for vegetables at agro-fairs in Kyiv
Київ стане майданчиком для сільськогосподарських ярмарків на фоні зростання вартості огірків і картоплі.

Agricultural Markets Scheduled for Kyiv

According to Главком: Agricultural markets will be held in Kyiv on February 14-15, 2026. The event was announced by the Department of Industry and Entrepreneurship Development of the Kyiv City State Administration. These markets will provide a platform for selling agricultural produce against a backdrop of rising prices for greenhouse cucumbers and potatoes in Ukraine.

Price increases have been recorded for greenhouse cucumbers in Ukraine, with the majority of cucumbers on the domestic market currently being imported from Turkey. Furthermore, a prolonged period of price stability for vegetables used in traditional borscht has ended, which has also influenced pricing. A sharp rise in wholesale potato prices has caused concern among consumers. These markets offer a direct-to-consumer alternative during a period of food price volatility.

Market Locations

On February 14, the markets will operate in several districts of Kyiv:

  • Holosiivskyi District: Pankivska Street (between Saksahanskoho and Zhylianska Streets) and Holosiivska Street, 4-10.

The agricultural markets in Kyiv promise to be both interesting and useful for city residents seeking to purchase fresh produce during a time of shifting prices.

The organization of agricultural markets in the Ukrainian capital responds to current market challenges, where price increases for staple vegetables are being observed. This initiative could be an important step in supporting local producers and providing the population with access to fresh products at more affordable prices.

The markets also contribute to the development of the agricultural sector and raise consumer awareness about product quality.
