Temporary restrictions on the operation of the metro and ground public transport were introduced in the center of Kyiv on June 21 due to public events. Two metro stations were closed for passengers, and the routes of several buses and trolleybuses were adjusted. This was reported by the Department of Transport Infrastructure of the Kyiv City State Administration.

Kyiv Metro operates with restrictions on June 21

Since the beginning of train operations, the metro stations "Ploshcha Ukrayins'kykh Heroiv" and "Palats Sportu" have been temporarily closed for passenger entry and exit. The transfer hub between these stations is also not operational.

Trains continue to run on schedule, but they pass the closed stations without stopping.

The city administration noted that the restrictions will be in effect approximately during the first half of the day. They promise to inform separately about the restoration of the stations' normal operation.

Bus and trolleybus routes changed in Kyiv

By 14:00, the routes of trolleybuses No. 4, No. 5, No. 7, No. 8, and No. 17 were changed. The transport runs through the streets of Leontovycha, Bohdana Khmelnytskoho, and Pyrohov, exiting onto Taras Shevchenko Boulevard.

There were also changes to bus routes No. 24, No. 62, No. 109, No. 110, No. 111, No. 114, and No. 118-D.

In particular, buses No. 110 and No. 111 are temporarily running only to European Square, while routes No. 24, No. 62, and No. 118-D have been redirected to bypass the city center through the streets of Baseina, Esplanadna, Saksahanskoho, and Shota Rustaveli.

Bus No. 109 from the "Kharkivska" metro station goes through the Ploshcha Ukrain’s'kykh Heroiv and Velyka Vasylkivska streets, after which it returns to its regular route.

Passengers are advised to consider the changes during trips

The Kyiv City State Administration urged Kyiv residents and guests of the capital to plan their routes in advance and take temporary transport restrictions into account.

The city authorities emphasize that the changes are temporary and are solely related to the holding of mass events in the center of Kyiv.

Recall that the Kyiv authorities rejected a petition against raising the transport fare to 30 UAH, which was registered on May 18, 2026, under number 14223.
