Partial Closure of Shukhevych Avenue in Kyiv for Repairs Through August 1
Traffic Restrictions in Kyiv
According to Главком: From June 29 to August 1, traffic on Roman Shukhevych Avenue in Kyiv's Desnyanskyi District will be partially restricted due to repair work. The restrictions will be in place daily from 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM on the section between the bridge over the Desenka River and Bratyslavska Street, heading toward Troieshchyna. Lane-by-lane restrictions on specific sections may cause congestion in the area.
Additionally, major repairs on Miska Street, which began in March, are ongoing. As part of this project, over 600 meters of new storm drainage have been installed, improving the city's infrastructure.
Temporary Restrictions for Heavy Trucks
Kyiv has also introduced temporary restrictions for heavy trucks due to air temperatures exceeding +28°C. The ban applies to heavy vehicles weighing over 24 tons or with an axle load exceeding 7 tons. Road signs and information boards have been placed to inform drivers of these restrictions.
These traffic limitations in Desnyanskyi District and other parts of Kyiv are part of broader efforts to enhance road infrastructure, reflecting a systematic approach to modernizing urban roadways. At the same time, the introduction of restrictions for heavy trucks during high temperatures underscores the need for road safety, which is crucial for preventing accidents and preserving road surfaces. While these measures may temporarily complicate city travel, they will ultimately improve conditions for all road users.
As the city undertakes significant repairs on Shukhevych Avenue, traffic disruptions on various streets in Kyiv are also set to begin this June. These ongoing projects aim to enhance the overall infrastructure and ensure safer travel for residents and visitors alike, highlighting the city's commitment to modernizing its roadways amidst necessary maintenance efforts.
