Bus Routes 46 and 112 Rerouted in Kyiv Due to a Fair
Kyiv Bus Routes Adjusted for Fair
According to Главком: On June 23, the routes of buses No. 46 and No. 112 in Kyiv were temporarily altered because of a food fair held on Ivana Mykytenka Street. According to the municipal company Kyivpastrans, these changes will remain in effect until the market closes. The buses, which normally run from the Livoberezhna and Lukyanivska metro stations, now travel to Mykoly Kibalchycha Street, then continue along Iryny Bekeshkinoi Street to the interchange at the intersection with Ivana Mykytenka Street. Passengers are advised to plan their trips around these adjustments in advance.
Fare Increase Debate Intensifies
Separately, the city government has rejected a petition urging it not to raise public transport fares to 30 UAH. At least six petitions opposing fare increases are currently registered on the Kyiv City Council website. In September 2025, Mayor Vitali Klitschko stated that the city is looking for ways to avoid raising ticket prices. On April 7, he also ordered a review of the public transport fare. The cost of a ride in Kyiv has not been updated since 2018, raising concerns among residents. The mayor noted that Kyiv still has the lowest public transport fares in Ukraine.
The bus route changes are tied to the fair, reflecting a surge in socioeconomic activity in the capital. At the same time, the issue of transport fares remains pressing, as the large number of petitions against a price hike highlights public anxiety. Authorities are trying to strike a balance between economic needs and the interests of the population, a dynamic that could shape future fare policy decisions in Kyiv.
As the city navigates the complexities of public transport adjustments, the upcoming fare increase is set to add another layer of concern for commuters. With the planned rise to 30 UAH starting July 15, 2026, residents are urged to stay informed about changes that could impact their daily travel.
