Deadly conflict in Kyiv

According to Прокуратура Київ: In Kyiv, a man who possessed a hunting rifle shot his neighbor during a quarrel that arose after consuming alcohol together. The victim, who came to the capital for insulation work, rented an apartment in the building and got acquainted with the suspect. The day before the tragedy, the men, along with a woman known to the deceased, consumed alcohol.

Events of the conflict

During their time together, a conflict arose between the neighbors. After the quarrel, the suspect went to his apartment located a few floors below and returned with a rifle. He shot the neighbor in the chest from close range, resulting in the victim's death on the spot. Residents of the building heard the quarrel and gunshots and called law enforcement.

After the conflict, the shooter went home, where he was detained. The rifle he used was seized. The suspect turned out to be a 49-year-old resident of Kyiv who legally owned the weapon. He has been charged with intentional murder under part 1 of Article 115 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. The sanction of this article provides for imprisonment for a term of 7 to 15 years. The Desnyansky District Prosecutor's Office of Kyiv is overseeing the case.
