Charges Brought Against Operators of Illegal Gambling Rings

According to Прокуратура Київ: Twelve people have been formally charged and sent to court in Kyiv for their involvement in operating ten underground gambling establishments. Among the accused, two brothers acted as the masterminds behind the operations, four individuals managed the gambling locations, and six others served as administrators handling customer service.

The two brothers, both 37 years old and former police officers from the Vinnytsia region until 2014, led these clandestine gambling activities. These venues operated in a closed environment, exclusively serving a select clientele who were informed about the locations through private messages. The estimated daily revenue from this illicit enterprise reached approximately 500,000 hryvnias.

Shutdown of Illegal Gambling Operations

Following a thorough pre-trial investigation conducted by prosecutors from the Kyiv City Prosecutor's Office, the underground gambling establishments were shut down in August 2025.

This case highlights the ongoing challenge Ukraine faces with illegal gambling activities, which often remain hidden and difficult to detect. Prosecuting those involved marks a significant step toward curbing unregulated gambling and reinforcing law enforcement efforts in the country. Such actions are crucial for upholding legal standards and protecting the public from unlawful gaming operations.
