Kyiv residents warned about the increase in travel card prices: what has changed since July

Киянам нагадують про подорожчання проїзних карток: які зміни відбулися з липня.

In Kyiv, prices for plastic travel cards, needed for public transport, have risen. Now the standard card costs 96 hryvnias, while the student card costs 120 hryvnias.

According to the city council's press service, the reason for the price increase is the rising costs of materials for card production, delivery difficulties, and rising salaries for employees.

Student cards have increased in price especially significantly due to individual customization with the owner's personal data. This process is more complex and requires more resources than the mass production of regular cards.

Fare rates remain unchanged, so Kyiv residents can continue to use their old cards by simply topping up their balance. A new card will only need to be purchased in the case of loss. Cards can be purchased or topped up at usual places: at metro terminals, ticket offices, and chain stores.

Additionally, there is the option of using the electronic version of the card in a mobile application, which offers the same benefits as the physical card. Thus, traveling around Kyiv remains convenient and accessible, despite the rise in prices for plastic travel cards.

As a result of the rising costs of production and delivery of cards, their price in Kyiv has increased. However, residents of the city still have various convenient payment methods for travel that help maintain the convenience and accessibility of public transport.
