The discussion of the Defence City project took place in Kyiv with representatives of partner countries

According to glavcom.ua: On July 14, a meeting took place between the initiators of the special regime Defence City and representatives of the G7 and NATO partner countries at the Ukrainian Parliament Committee on Finance, Taxation and Customs Policy.

Before the presentation of the initiative, the head of the 'Servant of the People' faction in the Verkhovna Rada, David Arakhamia, noted that the full-scale war forced Ukraine to significantly increase the volume of military equipment and armament production.

He noted that together with Defense Minister Rustem Umerov and the chairman of the finance committee, Danil Getmantsev, a package of bills on Defence City was developed to ensure further development of the military-industrial complex in Ukraine.

International cooperation for the development of defense production

The goal of the Defence City concept is to develop Ukrainian military-industrial production and collaborate with key players in the arms market. In particular, the creation of joint ventures and reserve production sites in the territories of the partner countries of the 'Ramstein' platform is planned.

One of the key topics of discussion was the timeline for considering the package of bills.

Approximately for the first reading of the first two bills this week and for the general vote by Independence Day. The head of the finance committee, Danil Getmantsev, is confident that the creation of the special regime will provide a boost to the development of the Ukrainian military-industrial sector.

The establishment of the Defence City special regime is a step towards the development of the Ukrainian defense industry and will contribute to international cooperation in the field of defense production.
