Ukraine in the top 10 of the European Youth Festival: 23 medals won
The open cup of Kyiv - Memory Cup 2025 in kyokushin karate was held in the capital, dedicated to the 'Angels of Sport' - athletes who gave their lives for Ukraine. This event was organized by the Kyiv City Federation of Kyokushin Karate and gathered 270 participants from various cities of Ukraine.
The tournament featured athletes from Poltava, Chernihiv, Zhytomyr, Brovary, Obukhiv, Irpin, Bucha, Vyshhorod, and Kyiv. The event also had a charitable goal - the funds raised will go towards building an inclusive veteran sports space M13 GYM.
The successes of Ukrainian athletes at the festival
Ukraine at this festival achieved the second-best result in its history of participation, winning 24 medals. The country won the most awards in judo - six of them.
In addition to judo, Ukrainian athletes won awards in swimming, athletics, taekwondo, shooting, artistic gymnastics, and table tennis.
Ukraine's performance at the World Summer Universiade
At the Summer Universiade in Germany, the Ukrainian team won 12 medals, and the overall result allowed the team to take 14th place in the standings.
