Due to extreme heat, scheduled hourly power outages will be in effect on June 30 in Kyiv and the surrounding region. Serhiy Kovalenko, CEO of Yasno, noted that
“the abnormal heat is severely draining Ukraine’s energy system.”
He urged residents to keep power banks and devices charged.
This expansion of emergency shelters in Kyiv aims to ensure safety and support for residents during emergencies. With the heatwave straining the power grid, these new locations offer crucial temporary refuge for the public. The move also reflects the local government’s proactive response to challenges posed by extreme weather conditions.
