On June 19 in Kyiv, tram services No. 22 and No. 25 were temporarily suspended due to an emergency damage to the main heating network. Restrictions were imposed on Boryspilska Street, where municipal services began repair work. To compensate for transport links, the city increased the number of buses on several routes. This information is reported by Kyivpasstrans.

The heating network accident halted tram services in Kyiv

According to transportation officials, tram services No. 22 and No. 25 were closed from 10:00 AM on June 19. The reason was an emergency damage to the heating network mains on Boryspilska Street.

Works to eliminate the accident are ongoing. Tram services on these routes will resume after the repairs and safety inspections are completed.

The city administration emphasized that temporary restrictions are necessary for the prompt elimination of damages and to prevent further emergency situations.

Transport in Kyiv has been partially compensated with buses

To reduce inconvenience for passengers, the capital has increased the number of rolling stock on the bus routes No. 51 and No. 63.

City authorities urged residents to consider changes when planning trips and to check the current information regarding public transport services whenever possible.

The accident occurred against the backdrop of other transport restrictions in the capital. In particular, from 11:00 AM on June 19 to 7:00 AM on June 22, traffic on the Northern Bridge will be partially restricted due to repair work.

Transport in Kyiv operates under additional load conditions

The issue of public transport operation remains one of the most discussed in the capital. Recently, the Kyiv city authorities rejected a petition calling for not raising the fare to 30 hryvnias.

In response to the inquiry, Kyiv Mayor Vitali Klitschko noted that a possible revision of tariffs is related to rising costs for fuel, electricity, labor, as well as a decrease in passenger traffic amid the war.

It is worth noting that on the night of June 18, an air raid alert was declared in Kyiv due to the threat of ballistic weapon use from the northern direction.
