‘No Home for Me’ in Kyiv: Photo Exhibit Pays Tribute to a Fallen Serviceman

Kyiv Metro Hosts ‘No Home for Me’ Photo Exhibition

According to Рубрика — Суспільство: A photo exhibition titled “No Home for Me” has opened at the Zoloti Vorota (Golden Gates) metro station in Kyiv, honoring Pylyp “Cody” Averenkov, who died in April 2025 while defending Ukraine. Averenkov was a traveler, teacher, and soldier.

The show, organized by the charitable foundation “Patronage Service of Da Vinci’s Wolves - Vidholos,” runs from August 26 to September 8, 2026 in the station’s vestibule. It presents 30 photographs he took in different countries, each paired with a short story that adds depth to his life and work. Kyiv Metro provided the details for this article; the photographs in the material are by Inna Strelchenko.

In 2018, Averenkov offered a reflection that now frames the exhibition’s spirit:

“What matters is how much kindness I have met along the way. The world is kind - I have seen this from my own experience.” - Pylyp Averenkov

Those words capture his optimistic view of life and highlight what this display means for visitors. Beyond commemorating one soldier, the project serves as a reminder of all Ukrainian defenders who have been killed. In addition to the poignant exhibition at the Kyiv Metro, the ongoing national campaign to honor fallen soldiers, known as the 'Remembrance Table', brings together bookstores, theaters, and universities across Ukraine. This initiative highlights the collective effort to remember and celebrate the sacrifices made by those who defended the nation, reinforcing the importance of remembrance in times of conflict.
