According to Главком: A new memorial dedicated to officers of Ukraine's Security Service (SBU) was unveiled in Kyiv on March 24, 2026. The ceremony, attended by government and civil society representatives, took place on the Defenders' Alley memorial complex beneath the Arch of Freedom of the Ukrainian People. This monument is the 22nd installation to be placed in this space honoring the nation's defense forces.

The memorial features an engraved colorless sword and a stylized cotton flower, representing an explosion, which together symbolize the courage and bravery of Ukraine's defenders. The initiative to create the memorial was led by the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, the 'Cultural Forces' platform, and the leadership of the SBU.

The SBU's Role and Operational Statistics

During the ceremony, the acting head of the SBU, Major General Yevhenii Khmar, presented statistics on the service's work since the full-scale invasion began. He noted that SBU counterintelligence has uncovered 141 agent networks since the start of the conflict and has prevented 195 crimes involving explosives since the beginning of 2025.

We are destroying the occupiers on the front line on an industrial scale, turning their equipment into scrap metal, and with our long-range strikes, we are degrading Russia's military-economic potential,' Yevhenii Khmar
