RECOVERY Network's 19th Innovative Rehabilitation Center Opens

According to Міністерство Здоров'я: The national RECOVERY network has inaugurated its 19th innovative rehabilitation center in Kyiv, providing free services to military personnel. This marks the fourth RECOVERY facility in the Kyiv region, with the capacity to assist up to a thousand service members annually. The network's expansion is a critical response to the ongoing need for specialized veteran care resulting from the war.

Equipped with cutting-edge technology, the center specializes in treating functional impairments, particularly those caused by gunshot wounds and blast injuries. Rehabilitation utilizes advanced systems like virtual reality and biofeedback. A multidisciplinary team of specialists delivers this comprehensive care, ensuring a holistic treatment approach.

Educational Programs and Nationwide Service Access

The project's educational initiatives have already trained 6,500 medical professionals. Furthermore, the program has facilitated international internships for specialists in 11 countries, including:

  • Austria
  • Belgium
  • Denmark
  • Estonia
  • Latvia
  • Lithuania
  • Norway
  • United States
  • Finland
  • Switzerland
  • Sweden

Free services are accessible not only in Kyiv but also in Vinnytsia, Dnipropetrovsk region, Lutsk, Lviv, Odesa, Poltava, Rivne, Khmelnytskyi, Ternopil, Cherkasy, Chernihiv, and Chernivtsi.

To date, the RECOVERY network centers have provided rehabilitation aid to over 43,000 patients. The development of this rehabilitation system is a flagship project of the Ministry of Health, implemented within the National Strategy for creating a barrier-free environment in Ukraine, an initiative championed by First Lady Olena Zelenska.

The opening of this new Kyiv center underscores the vital importance of providing free medical care to service members injured in combat. With a growing number of patients requiring rehabilitation, such initiatives are increasingly crucial for supporting the health and recovery of veterans. This effort also highlights the state's commitment to fostering an inclusive environment for all citizens, especially those who have sustained physical injuries due to the war.
