Resumption of Transport Services in Kyiv

According to Рубрика — Суспільство: After the drone attack on October 1, surface public transport has resumed operations across Kyiv’s Southern Bridge. Experts from KP 'Kyivavtoshlyakhmist' found no critical damage to the bridge’s structure, allowing bus routes 22 and 91 to return to their regular paths. Meanwhile, inspections of the metro infrastructure on the Southern Bridge are still underway, and normal metro service has yet to be fully restored.

Current Metro Operations

Currently, trains on the metro’s green line are running between the stations 'Syrets' and 'Vydubychi,' as well as between 'Osokorky' and 'Chervony Khutir.' During a service at 11:30, an explosion shockwave caused dust to enter the train cars through the ventilation system. Fortunately, neither passengers nor the driver were harmed, and the train’s windows and interior remained intact. Following the incident, the affected train was taken to the depot for thorough examination.

The drone strike initially forced a halt to both metro and surface transport across the bridge. Authorities will provide updates regarding the full restoration of metro services as inspections progress.

The reopening of surface transport over the Southern Bridge marks a significant step in Kyiv’s infrastructure recovery after the recent military actions. However, ongoing detailed evaluations of the metro underline the challenges city transit faces amid the current security threats. Passenger safety remains the top priority, as evidenced by the absence of injuries during the metro incident.

As the city works towards restoring normalcy, it's important to understand the events leading up to this recovery. The recent drone strikes that previously disrupted transport illustrate the ongoing challenges faced by Kyiv's infrastructure. With ongoing inspections and updates from authorities, the situation remains dynamic, emphasizing the need for vigilance in public transport safety.
