According to Прокуратура Київ: A scheme for obtaining fake disability status for a conscript was uncovered in Kyiv. A former people's deputy and a mediator from Mykolaiv promised a Kyiv resident a third group disability for 10,000 US dollars. The scheme involved fictitious treatment at a medical institution, as well as forged medical certificates and doctors' conclusions.

The Kyiv resident was offered assistance in obtaining disability benefits using the former MP's connections in medical institutions of Mykolaiv region. The conscript submitted documents, and after two months was informed of being assigned a third group disability. The money was to be transferred in stages; already two transfers of 5,000 US dollars have been documented.

Legal consequences and risks

Two residents of Mykolaiv, one of whom is a former people's deputy, have been notified of suspicion for receiving money for assistance in obtaining a disability group, which likely served as a deferment from mobilization. The Kyiv city prosecutor's office carried out the procedural management. The suspects were chosen preventive measures in the form of detention with the right to bail, which amounts to over 260,000 UAH and over 120,000 UAH.

This situation highlights the serious risks of fraud in the conditions of military mobilization, where individuals attempt to exploit legislative loopholes for personal gain. The detection of such schemes indicates active actions by law enforcement agencies in combating crimes related to military issues, which may help prevent similar cases in the future.
