In Kyiv, free travel for students and cadets will be stopped from July 1
Starting July 1, Kyiv will traditionally suspend the free travel for students and cadets, which is valid only during the academic year. Meanwhile, students will be able to use public transportation at discounted rates by obtaining a pass with a 75% discount. This is reported by the Kyiv City State Administration.
Free travel for students will be suspended until the end of summer
The exemption will not be in effect from July 1 to August 31 inclusive. This is an annual practice applied during the summer holidays.
Instead, daytime students can purchase discounted travel tickets with a 75% discount. They can be obtained through the ‘Kyiv Digital’ app, self-service terminals, the KP ‘GIOC’ website, or the EasyPay service.
What prices for student travel tickets will be in effect from July 1
Several options for travel passes are available for students:
-

-
162.50 UAH – unlimited pass for the second half of the month;

The changes also affect cadets
During the summer holidays, cadets of higher military educational institutions who enjoy this benefit during the academic year will temporarily lose their right to free travel.
Free travel for students and cadets will be restored after the summer holidays, with the start of the new academic year.
It is worth noting that Kyiv has introduced partial traffic restrictions on one of the key transport arteries of the Pechersk district for almost a month.
