According to Главком: Police in Kyiv have detained a 32-year-old woman suspected of a series of thefts targeting high-value items from jewelry stores. Her arrest was made under Article 208 of the Criminal Procedure Code of Ukraine immediately after she stole a gold chain. She has been formally notified of suspicion under Part 4 of Article 185 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine, which carries a potential penalty of up to eight years of imprisonment. The suspect will remain in custody for the duration of the pre-trial investigation.

"At present, law enforcement officers have established at least five episodes of theft committed by her. In particular, it has been established that the value of some stolen items reached UAH 200,000," the police reported.
