Fare Adjustments for Kyiv's Public Transport

According to Главком: Starting March 14, the fare for private minibuses on Kyiv's route No. 434 has increased to 20 hryvnias. This change is attributed to rising fuel costs. It is worth noting that a similar increase to 20 hryvnias was briefly implemented on route No. 556 in January but was quickly reversed. The initial fare revision for minibuses occurred in May 2022, when the cost rose from 10–12 hryvnias to 15 hryvnias. These adjustments are part of ongoing efforts to manage the operational costs of private carriers in the city's transport network.

Public Electric Transport Route Modifications

Separately, due to repair work on an overpass, the routes for public electric transport have been altered since March 4. Specifically, trolleybus route No. 37 will now follow a modified path, traveling along:

  • Radunska Street
  • Liskivska Street
  • Oleksandry Ekster Street
  • Chervonoi Kalyny Avenue
  • Ronald Reagan Street

and will conclude its journey at the 'Lisova' metro station.

These changes to fares and public transport routes in Kyiv are driven by the need to adapt to new economic conditions and ensure stable transportation services.

The fare hikes for minibuses and the rerouting of electric transport highlight the persistent challenges facing the capital's public transit system.

Given the surge in fuel prices, such measures may be necessary to maintain the financial viability of transport operators. This situation also underscores the importance of adapting the city's transport infrastructure to shifting economic realities and the needs of its residents.
