Kyiv Digital App Introduces Free Parking for Drivers with Disabilities and Pension Certificates

Free parking for disabled people in Kyiv
Нова програма в Києві забезпечує безкоштовну парковку для водіїв з інвалідністю та пенсіонерів.

Complimentary Parking for Drivers with Disabilities

According to Рубрика — Суспільство: The Kyiv Digital mobile application now offers an option for drivers holding pension certificates related to disability to access free parking at city-operated hourly parking zones. This benefit is available to individuals classified under disability groups I, II, and III, as well as those disabled due to war-related causes. Note that free parking applies exclusively to municipal hourly parking facilities.

How to Activate the Benefit

To take advantage of this privilege, drivers must verify their pension status within the Kyiv Digital app by following these steps:

  • Log into your profile;
  • Navigate to the 'Social Status' section;
  • Complete the verification process.

Once verified, the 'Hourly Parking' service will notify users of their eligibility for free parking. It is crucial to start a free parking session through the app each time you park, ensuring that parking inspectors can confirm your status in the system.

This benefit does not extend to specially designated parking areas, such as private garages or lots with separate payment terms. Additionally, Kyiv Digital offers a discounted parking subscription for Kyiv taxpayers, which links to the vehicle’s license plate and eliminates the need to manually start and stop parking sessions.

"City digital services must cater to the diverse needs of Kyiv residents. This is why we are not only launching new features but also progressively integrating benefits and social statuses into Kyiv Digital,"

Valentyn Mondryivskyi, Deputy Head of Kyiv City State Administration

Deputy Head Kostyantyn Usov emphasized the city's commitment to enhancing digital parking solutions:

"We continue to develop parking as one of the most digitized, automated, and seamless urban services."

This new initiative within Kyiv Digital aims to improve parking accessibility for people with disabilities, contributing to a better quality of life in the capital. The move reflects a broader commitment to equal access to municipal services, particularly for vulnerable groups.

By providing free parking to drivers with disabilities, the city is helping to remove mobility barriers and promote social inclusion. The expansion of digital services also streamlines administrative procedures, reducing bureaucracy and enhancing the overall convenience of using city offerings.
