Scheduled Blasting at Kyiv Region's Shamraivske Granite Quarry on February 27
Planned Explosive Operations at Shamraivske Granite Deposit
According to Главком: On February 27, scheduled explosive work is taking place at the Shamraivske granite deposit in the Kyiv region. The purpose of this operation is to fracture the granite rock for subsequent processing into crushed stone. The blasting activities are scheduled to occur between 8:00 AM and 4:00 PM. Such controlled detonations are a standard industrial method for extracting hard rock materials.
These operations are part of a regular practice and are periodically carried out at other quarries in the region. For instance:
- On December 15, blasting work was conducted at the Rokytnianskyi granite quarry;
- On January 28, operations took place within the territory of the Shamraivske granite deposit.
It is worth noting that the Bila Tserkva district is home to several other deposits involved in granite extraction, including the Olshanytske granite deposit and the Rokytnianskyi special quarry. The organization overseeing the execution of these works is the Bila Tserkva District Military Administration.
Economic Significance of the Blasting Operations
The scheduled blasting at the Shamraivske granite deposit underscores the importance of mineral extraction for the regional economy. These operations provide essential raw materials for construction projects and contribute to the development of local infrastructure. The granite extracted is a key component for road construction and building foundations.
Regular oversight by the Bila Tserkva District Military Administration ensures that all safety protocols are strictly followed during the blasting operations. This vigilance is a critical aspect of protecting public health and preserving the local environment.
