In Lviv, the Flag of Hope was raised: a symbol of remembrance for missing soldiers
On August 30, Lviv commemorated the Day of Remembrance for the missing. The Flag of Hope was raised on the Town Hall, symbolizing the memory of Ukrainian soldiers who have not yet been found. This information was shared by Lviv's mayor Andriy Sadovyi.
The Flag of Hope was raised by the son of a Ukrainian soldier, Andriy Hoza. The black color of the flag reflects sorrow, while the white color represents faith. This flag serves as a reminder of those who did not return home.
“Lviv remembers,” wrote Andriy Sadovyi, emphasizing that the city will not forget its heroes.
The initiative to raise the Flag of Hope was proposed by veteran Serhiy Volynskyi. He first suggested this idea in 2024. The black stripe of the flag symbolizes pain and loss, while the white one signifies faith in return and a bright future.
