Air Gun Attack on Military Vehicle in Lviv

According to Главком: In Lviv, a woman used an air gun to attack a vehicle belonging to a Territorial Recruitment Center (TRC). The incident occurred on the morning of February 2 in the Shevchenkivskyi district. The 44-year-old woman first used the pneumatic pistol to strike the vehicle's windshield. She then fired a shot at a Volkswagen minibus carrying a notification group from the Halytskyi-Frankivskyi District TRC and Support Point. The shot hit the rear window, but fortunately, no one was injured.

Law enforcement officers detained the woman, who has been notified of suspicion of hooliganism under Part 4 of Article 296 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. A pre-trial investigation is ongoing under the procedural guidance of the Halytskyi District Prosecutor's Office of Lviv. This incident highlights the tense environment surrounding military recruitment efforts in Ukraine.

Other Incidents Involving Lviv Recruitment Centers

This is not the only recent incident linked to TRCs in Lviv. Previously, a man who was wanted and lacked identification documents died at a Lviv regional TRC. The cause of death was alcohol poisoning, as the man was intoxicated.

  • In another case, a man attacked a TRC serviceman with a knife, wounding a 47-year-old soldier from the Halytskyi-Frankivskyi District TRC and Support Point. The assailant was later located and detained.

These events occurred while servicemen, together with police, were conducting public notification measures related to mobilization.

This incident underscores the growing tension around military recruitment offices in Lviv, particularly amid Ukraine's ongoing mobilization. The pattern of attacks on TRCs may point to underlying social issues and a sense of discontent among certain segments of the population.

It is crucial for law enforcement to respond to such cases, ensuring the safety of both military personnel and civilians in the region.
