According to ДСНС: This tribute remembers Danylo Khryzhniak, a 23-year-old rescuer with Ukraine's State Emergency Service (DSNS), who was killed in Nikopol on 6 August 2025. He had been helping evacuate a woman wounded when a Russian shell hit her home. Danylo administered first aid and helped her into an evacuation vehicle. During that operation, Russian forces launched a second strike aimed at the rescuers, and Danylo died at the scene from his injuries.

Since the start of the full-scale war, Danylo had served in some of the most dangerous places, including the Nikopol district. His death is a stark reminder that rescue missions in frontline areas can themselves come under fire.
