According to Главком: On February 6, a car explosion in Odesa's Kyiv district resulted in the death of a 21-year-old man, the owner of a Toyota vehicle. The incident occurred on Akademika Korolova Street, with the emergency call being placed to the 102 police line. This attack is part of a concerning pattern of vehicle explosions in Ukraine, which have escalated in recent months.

Police investigators, forensic experts, bomb disposal technicians, and canine units from the regional police are currently working at the scene. This explosion follows two similar incidents that occurred in January 2024. In one, a car belonging to the Ukrainian Volunteer Army (UDA) exploded in the village of Hvardiiske, Odesa region, seriously injuring and hospitalizing two occupants.

• On January 4, an SUV exploded in Kyiv's Obolon district, also causing injuries.

Law enforcement continues to investigate the cause of the Odesa blast and the other city explosions.
