The number of job vacancies in Poland has decreased: in which sectors it is easiest to find work

After four months of growth, the number of job vacancies in Poland began to decline in August. The largest drop was recorded in three voivodeships, however, the service sector continues to increase its demand for workers. Where in Poland has the number of job vacancies decreased the most

New trends have been recorded in the report of the Department of Economics and Finance of the University of Information Technology and Management in Rzeszów and the Bureau of Investments and Economic Cycles.

After four months of increasing the number of employer advertisements, the market turned towards a decline in August. One of the reasons was the end of the seasonal work period.

The greatest decrease in the number of vacancies compared to July was noted in the Greater Poland, Masovian, and Swietokrzyskie voivodeships. Much smaller changes were recorded in the Subcarpathian, West Pomeranian, and Opole voivodeships.

The authors of the research also relate employers' caution to the situation in the Middle East. Due to uncertainty, companies are more reserved in planning business expansion and hiring new employees.

At the same time, employment opportunities significantly depend on the region. A recent study showed that among large cities, it is easiest to find work in Warsaw, Poznan, and Katowice.

In which sectors are the most job vacancies in Poland in 2026

The best situation for candidates remains in the service sector. The number of offers here steadily increases from the beginning of the year, and in August the figure approached a historical maximum.

Growth in the number of advertisements has also been noted in procurement, the banking sector, and real estate. Among scientific and engineering specialties, the most new offers appeared for specialists in occupational safety, research and development, and e-commerce.

The situation for physical workers has worsened: the trend towards a decrease in demand persists, although the absolute number of offers remains relatively high.

After a good first half of the year, the demand for graduates of natural sciences has somewhat decreased. There have been no significant changes for professions requiring education in social sciences.

The most noticeable reduction in the number of advertisements in August was recorded for graphic designers, financial specialists, and office workers. This coincides with the overall trend of 2026: in creative, financial, and some administrative professions, competition for jobs remains higher.
