Ukrainians in Poland are being denied refugee status en masse: reasons for the decision
According to hvylya.net: Ukrainians are trying to obtain refugee status in Poland, but most are being denied. According to the portal 'InPoland', since March 2025, nearly thousands of Ukrainian citizens have been denied this status. The reasons for the refusals are not disclosed, but it is known that security situations and access to state services are taken into account when considering each application.
The granting of refugee status in Poland is not related to the strengthening of security in Ukraine or mobilization. President Nawrocki vetoed amendments to the law that could have alleviated the situation for Ukrainians, but they remain under temporary protection as defined by the European Council. It is also worth noting that the standards for receiving social assistance in Poland have been tightened.
