A new stage of the Hansen Town has opened in Kyiv region: 500 families from frontline regions will live here
The fifth stage of the "Hansen Town" has been opened in Tarasivka, Kyiv region - a newly built apartment building for families from frontline areas, a dormitory for evacuees, a space for IT academy students, and a recovery shelter for women who have experienced inhuman crimes by the Russian army.
The opening was attended by Deputy Prime Minister for the Restoration of Ukraine, Minister for Communities and Territories Development Oleksiy Kuleba. Almost 500 families from Kherson, Donetsk, Kharkiv, Luhansk, Zaporizhia, and Sumy regions already live in the town.
“I remember Mr. Hansen's visit to Kyiv region in spring 2023. Then we first talked to him about the importance of building housing for people who have lost their homes. Only eight months passed from that visit to the opening of the first completed residential complexes - by the end of the year, the first families from frontline areas were moving into their new homes. This is the result of coordinated work and a high level of responsibility – I am grateful to Mr. Hansen for this”
Over the past two years, Charity Hansen Ukrainian Mission has scaled its project to Sofiyivska Borshchahivka, Kolonshchyna, Moshchun, Andriivka, Buzova, and the Mykaryiv community. This is over 900 homes where about 4000 internally displaced persons live.
A new project in the village of Hlevakha in Kyiv region
This summer, the Ministry of Development and the charitable organization "Hansen Mission in Ukraine" launched a new project - the construction of a new town in the village of Hlevakha in Kyiv region. The design of the settlement is now being finalized, and soon the construction of 720 housing units will begin.
“It is also important to integrate state programs into similar initiatives by philanthropists. For example, almost 130 families have managed to purchase housing in towns thanks to the eRecovery certificates. I am grateful to Hansen for the joint work. This project shows that the combination of state tools and partners' support yields real results for the people. Such collaboration creates new rebuilding models and opportunities for those who have suffered the most from the war”
Emphasized Deputy Prime Minister Natalia Kozlovska.
The fifth stage of the 'Hansen Town' has been opened in Tarasivka for families from frontline areas. In total, the project already allows the settlement of almost 1000 families, which is important assistance for those who have suffered from the war.
