In Ternopil, all 17 Electron trolleybuses are already transporting passengers: more than 670 thousand people have used them since June. After the first deliveries of Electron trolleybuses, the city has completed the launch of this batch and is preparing for the next one: another 27 vehicles are expected to arrive in 2027. This is reported by the Ternopil City Council.

All 17 Electron trolleybuses are already operating on the routes

The new trolleybuses are low-floor, equipped with air conditioning, GPS trackers, video surveillance, and information displays. For passengers in wheelchairs and parents with strollers, there are folding platforms.

Each vehicle can accommodate up to 106 passengers, including 34 seats. The arrival of the transport took place gradually: earlier the municipal enterprise accepted eight more low-floor trolleybuses.

According to the transport networks and communications department of the city council, since June, more than 670 thousand passengers have used the new trolleybuses. This is the figure for the period from the beginning of their operation on the line to October 2026.

Another 27 trolleybuses are expected to arrive in 2027

The city has ordered the manufacture of another 27 energy-efficient low-floor trolleybuses. The tender procedures have already been completed, and agreements with the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development have been concluded. The project is also supported by the Government of Canada. The delivery is expected in 2027.

The purchase of 17 vehicles is part of the project “Urban Public Transport of Ukraine” financed by the European Investment Bank. Further replenishment of the fleet will continue the modernization of the city's electric transport. Earlier, Ternopil also planned the purchase of 12-meter trolleybuses with the support of the EU.
