According to glavcom.ua: The NARC diving team discovered a Russian hydrophone off the coast of Wales. Initially, they assumed it was part of a navigation marker, but later it turned out to be an acoustic device for detecting submarines.
The sonar buoy is an important component of modern naval systems and is used to detect hostile objects in the water. Russia has recently been actively acquiring equipment to protect its submarine fleet in the Arctic, including modern sonar systems and underwater drones.
