Household Gas Prices for September: Monthly Plans Drop, Annual Contracts Hold Steady
September Gas Pricing Update for Households
According to ХВИЛЯ: Rolling out fresh pricing for September, household gas suppliers have kept annual contract rates unchanged while trimming monthly rates compared with August. Annual price levels now range from 7.96 to 9.99 hryvnias per cubic meter, while monthly options are priced between 8.46 and 26.99 hryvnias per cubic meter. The lowest figure, 7.96 hryvnias per cubic meter, is available from both GC Naftogaz Ukraine and Ternopiloblgaz Zbut.
Suppliers and Their Price Points
Eight companies operate in the residential gas market, with four offering annual contracts only and the other four providing both annual and monthly plans. The gap between the least and most expensive cubic meter is more than threefold, reflecting wide variation among suppliers. Selected annual tariffs include:
- Prykarpat Energo Trade - 7.98 hryvnias per cubic meter;
- Galnaftogaz with PE OKKO Contract - 7.99 hryvnias per cubic meter;
- YASNO in Kyiv and Dnipro - 8.46 hryvnias per cubic meter.
At the top of the monthly price range, Lvivenergozbut charges 26.00 hryvnias per cubic meter, and Retail Service under the SvitloGas brand sets the highest rate at 26.99 hryvnias per cubic meter. Those same two suppliers price their annual offers at 8.20 and 9.99 hryvnias per cubic meter, respectively. Annual plans remain the standard choice for households, and suppliers cannot move customers from annual to monthly tariffs without their consent.
Currently, roughly 98% of residential users - more than 12 million households - receive gas from GC Naftogaz Ukraine at a fixed rate of 7.96 hryvnias per cubic meter, a price guaranteed at least through April 30, 2027.
The recent slide in monthly gas rates could be a positive development for consumers who prefer short-term supply arrangements.

Still, the vast majority of households stay on annual contracts, which offer stability and predictable spending. Given the competitive landscape, informed consumers can better choose terms that suit their needs, and suppliers may be motivated to improve both pricing and customer service.
