According to hvylya.net: After the end of the war between Russia and Ukraine, the military reported that the demining of the Black Sea waters will take considerable time. The spokesperson for the Naval Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Dmytro Pletenchuk, talked about this during a telethon.

'What the enemy mines, we cannot know. In any case, demining is a lengthy process. If demining on land takes one amount of time, demining the sea takes another because demining here is much more complicated,' - Pletenchuk explained.

Pletenchuk explained that demining marine areas is different from demining land. While it is possible to create maps of mines on land, the situation at sea is more complex because mines can move and have additional coordinates.

According to estimates by the Naval Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, demining of maritime routes and areas will take from 5 to 8 months. The clearing of the Black and Azov Seas will take about 3-5 years, but some work will continue for decades.

It has been stated that demining the waters of the Black Sea after the war could even take decades. The complexity of the process lies in the movement of mines and the presence of additional coordinates in the marine environment.
