According to glavcom.ua: On the night of August 19, drones attacked the Russian city of Volgograd, resulting in a fire at the oil refinery. This is reported by 'Glavkom,' citing regional governor Andrei Bochkov.
According to authorities, air defense forces are repelling a massive drone attack in the Volgograd region. Bochkov stated that in the southern part of the city of Volgograd, debris from an unmanned aerial vehicle caused a fire at the oil refinery.
«Firefighters are working on-site to localize and extinguish the fire. According to preliminary data, there are no casualties,» the statement noted.
The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine confirmed the strike on the Volgograd oil refinery, which belongs to LLC 'Lukoil-Volgogradneftepererabotka.' The strike on the facility, which supplies fuel and lubricants to the Russian army, was carried out on August 14 by units of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine, and other components of the defense forces.
The large Volgograd oil refinery, with a design capacity of about 300,000 barrels of oil per day, halted oil loading after one of the recent strikes by Ukrainian drones on Russian energy facilities.
According to the latest data, there are no casualties from the attack on the Volgograd oil refinery, but the plant has stopped operations following strikes by Ukrainian drones on energy facilities in Russia.
