In Zaporizhzhia, preferential travel for schoolchildren extended for the summer

Schoolchildren in Zaporizhzhia will continue to use public transport at a 50% discount. Preferential travel remains in effect even after the start of the calendar summer, as the school year in the city officially lasts until the end of June. This was reported by the Zaporizhzhia City Council.

The city council reminded that students of educational institutions have the right to travel on public transport at half the ticket price.

The benefit applies to both municipal transport and routes serviced by private carriers.

The right to a discount is maintained throughout the school year and is in effect from Monday to Friday.

When the travel discount is valid

According to current regulations, preferential travel is not provided during holidays, inter-semester breaks, vacations between quarters, and other periods when the educational process is suspended.

However, this year, classes in Zaporizhzhia schools will officially last until June 30. This is why students retain the right to use transport with a discount during the first month of summer.

The extension of the school year allows students to continue to use the benefit when traveling to educational institutions, additional classes, and other educational activities.

For many families, this means lower transportation costs in June, as the discount applies to most city routes regardless of the carrier's ownership.
