In Zaporizhzhia, school students can receive a discount on transport in public transport via smartphone. As of March 1, it is no longer necessary to show a paper student ticket or certificate to confirm the discount. The Zaporizhzhia City Council reports.

Now it is enough to open the educational application «Mriya» on the phone and show it to the driver. The innovation is already in effect in the city's municipal transport.

Transport discount for students: how the digital service works

The student ticket in Zaporizhzhia entitles students to a 50% discount on urban transport. Previously, students had to present a paper document to confirm the discount.

Now, the discount can be accessed through the mobile application «Mriya». Employees of the municipal enterprise «Zaporizhelektrotrans» have already been informed about the new rules.

The subsidized transport is available in the following types of transport:

• trams;

• trolleybuses;

• large municipal buses.

The city council noted that the digital format should simplify the verification of discounts and make transportation use more convenient for students.

The «Mriya» application: a digital service for education

The educational application «Mriya» is a state digital ecosystem coordinated by the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine and the Ministry of Digital Transformation.

Zaporizhzhia became the first region to join this platform not by separate schools, but by the entire educational community of the city.

In the city council, it is noted that the system helps implement digital solutions in education. Its operation is often compared to the «Dii» service, but for students and educational institutions.

Let us remind you that Zaporizhzhia continues to develop digital payment for transport. Earlier, the city launched the electronic transport card «Sich Zahalna» that allows contactless payment for trips.
