A hospital is being built in Zhytomyr for 124 million euros: how it will change medicine

In Zhytomyr, construction begins on a new hospital thanks to cooperation with Dutch partners. This information was provided by the Ministry of Community and Territorial Development.

A meeting took place with representatives of the Ministry of Community and Territorial Development of Ukraine, the International Finance Corporation (IFC), Zhytomyr City Council, Invest International, and the Recovery Agency regarding the project for the construction of a new multidisciplinary hospital in Zhytomyr. The Deputy Minister of Community and Territorial Development of Ukraine, Marina Denysiuk, joined the meeting.

The project envisages the unification of three city hospitals into one building, which will be constructed using modern technologies to improve the delivery of medical services and increase staff productivity. The construction of a new hospital in Zhytomyr is the first public-private partnership project in the healthcare sector. The private investor will be responsible for all stages of the project, including construction and management of the building.

'This project is more than just a medical facility. It represents a new model of hospital development, where quality and efficiency are the main priorities. This is the first step towards public-private partnership that can be expanded to other cities,' emphasized Marina Denysiuk.

The project also involves attracting various sources of financing, including public and private investments. The estimated cost of constructing and equipping the new hospital is 123.8 million euros. Currently, the preparation of the feasibility study for the project is underway, after which the process of searching for a private investor for the implementation of this initiative will begin. The construction of a new hospital in Zhytomyr with the participation of Dutch partners is planned as part of the first public-private partnership project in the healthcare sector. This step aims to improve medical services and more effectively manage the medical institution.
