Attack on a Power Substation in Sevastopol

According to ХВИЛЯ: On the night of June 24, drones operated by the Unmanned Systems Forces (USF) struck the main electrical substation in occupied Sevastopol, causing a complete blackout across the entire Sevastopol energy district. The operation was coordinated by the newly established Deep Strike Center. The Russian-appointed occupation authorities in Sevastopol confirmed the attack.

The targeted substation distributes power generated by the Balaklava Thermal Power Plant. According to the Crimean Wind channel, the facility was hit three times. Local Telegram channels reported a large fire and a column of black smoke rising from the substation. The facility is classified as a 330/220/110/35 kV substation known as Sevastopol.

Impact on Local Infrastructure

USF commander Robert Madyar Brovdi stated that his unit struck 48 operational and planned targets deep within enemy defenses in the south. At 4:37 a.m. local time, Moscow-appointed head of the Sevastopol occupation administration Mikhail Razvozhayev acknowledged that the strike targeted the energy sector.

The power outage disrupted morning transportation: trolleybuses stopped running, and several bus routes were canceled. Kindergartens switched to reduced staffing, with children receiving dry rations instead of hot meals.

This strike on energy infrastructure in Sevastopol may be part of a broader strategy aimed at degrading enemy capabilities in occupied territories. The loss of electricity will affect the daily lives of local residents and could increase social tensions. Such actions also highlight the growing role of the Unmanned Systems Forces in the ongoing conflict, underscoring the importance of energy infrastructure in modern warfare.
