UFC to Stage $60 Million White House Event with Trump Selecting Fighters
UFC Event Planned for the White House
According to Главком: The Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) is set to hold a major event at the White House on June 14, 2026, with a budget of up to $60 million. This historic spectacle will coincide with the 250th anniversary of the signing of the U.S. Declaration of Independence, marking the first time a professional sporting event has ever been hosted at the presidential residence. U.S. President Donald Trump will be personally involved in selecting the fighters and helping to organize the tournament. The move highlights the continued blending of major sports entertainment with political spectacle.
To accommodate the show, the UFC will construct an octagon and spectator seating on the White House grounds. In a unique twist, fighters are planned to make their walk to the octagon directly from the Oval Office. UFC President Dana White and his assistant Borzari have already traveled to Washington to meet with the President and his team to finalize event logistics and the participant roster. Dana White remarked:
'As the date gets closer, we're considering a multitude of ideas. We have three different options for every single aspect of the event, and we'll see what he likes and what he doesn't. This event is going to be absolutely stunning, unique, special, and very, very expensive.' Dana White, UFC President
Significance of the Event
This White House UFC tournament represents a significant milestone in sports history, merging high-level entertainment with politics. As the first event of its kind, it could set a precedent for other sports organizations seeking to expand their audience and influence. The President's direct involvement may also boost the popularity of Mixed Martial Arts (MMA) among broader demographics, which is significant for the sport's growth in the United States.
