Political Analyst Yuriy Romanenko Outlines Consequences for Minsk

According to ХВИЛЯ: Ukrainian political analyst Yuriy Romanenko has stated that Kyiv is prepared to demolish critical infrastructure in Belarus should Russian forces mount another invasion from Belarusian soil. He warned that such a scenario would trigger an economic collapse for Alexander Lukashenko’s regime. According to Romanenko, if new threats emerge from Belarus, Ukraine would have no alternative but to obliterate key infrastructure assets. This stance reflects growing tensions along the northern border, where Belarus has been accused of enabling Russian drone strikes against Ukraine.

Romanenko argued that Minsk can no longer hide behind a facade of neutrality, as its territory is routinely used to launch drone attacks on Ukraine. In the event of a full-scale ground assault, he said, the response from Ukraine’s Armed Forces would be devastating.

'Ukraine will start burning down all infrastructure with napalm. Moreover, it would be enough to hit two oil refineries and the potash fertilizer plant in Gomel to wipe out about 50 percent of Belarus’s GDP,' Romanenko stated.

President Volodymyr Zelenskyy’s Position

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has also addressed the possibility of cross-border strikes, drawing a clear distinction between Lukashenko’s actions and the will of the Belarusian people. He previously noted that the Kremlin still harbors many dangerous ideas, including plans for renewed cross-border attacks.

'Zelenskyy has said that the Belarusian people did not start this war,' according to statements from Ukrainian leadership.

The president sees the best future for both countries as simultaneous membership in the European Union, grounded in mutual respect for sovereignty.

Ukraine’s military command has assured that any attempt to breach the border will be met with an immediate and overwhelming response. 'Kyiv is sending signals that the mustached old man would be better off amusing the public with absurd remarks than playing Putin’s escalation game and ending up with his own Tuapse from Brest to Vitebsk,' Romanenko added.

Romanenko’s remarks underscore the gravity of the situation along the Ukraine-Belarus border and the potential consequences for Belarus if the conflict escalates. Highlighting Ukraine’s determination to defend its sovereignty, the analyst signals Kyiv’s readiness to take decisive action against threats from its northern neighbor. At the same time, Zelenskyy’s position reflects an effort to separate the Belarusian people from their regime’s actions, emphasizing the importance of unity and cooperation within Euro-Atlantic structures.

As tensions escalate, the situation in Belarus remains precarious, particularly in light of the latest developments regarding Zelenskyy's revelations about Russia's military strategies. Understanding these dynamics is crucial, as they shed light on the broader implications for regional security and the potential for further conflict.
