According to Кабмін: The ongoing war has severely hampered Ukraine’s port operations, creating a major choke point for global grain supplies. Restoring these ports is a critical step for Ukraine’s economic recovery, as they serve as vital logistics hubs for agricultural exports. Given the worldwide food crisis-fueled by conflict and climate change-success in this area will have a significant impact on food markets both domestically and internationally.

International partners also play a key role; their support can accelerate the necessary infrastructure and security improvements in the region.

Government and Presidential Oversight of 24/7 Port Recovery

Ukrainian Prime Minister Serhiy Koretskyi announced that the government, diplomatic corps, and state institutions are working around the clock to restore port functionality. This effort is under the direct personal supervision of the President of Ukraine. Restoring the ports is essential for Ukraine’s economy and for global food security.

“We are coordinating with international partners and diversifying supply channels,” Koretskyi stated.

The Prime Minister also emphasized the special role and involvement of the military, saying “much depends on them.”
